bridesmaid boxes.

April 15th, 2014

This January one of my all-time favorite couples got engaged. I was living with Carlie when Matt made the move to the Big Apple to be with her. I was lucky enough to witness their love deepen {I wanted to say blossom or bloom but, like, really?}. Seriously. They are perfect for one another. And I wish you could hear my tone when I say that. It isn’t flippant. I’m not just throwing it out there to be said. It isn’t a stereotypical perfection but a relationship built on balance. I just really, really love the two of them together.

So when Carlie asked me if I would help with the inspiration and execution of a “Will you be my maid of honor?” and “Will you be my bridesmaid?” box I was so excited. I think I got a little too excited. I had so many ideas! Carlie already had a strong succinct vision of her wedding day from the dress to the food so as she shared these concepts with me I had a strong foundation as inspiration. Her colors: Navy & Gold. How perfect for a later January winter wedding in Louisville? AH!

Here is what we ultimately collaborated on including in the box:

1. DIY Personalized Tote, Craft Box DIY to Go

2. Gold Earrings, Etsy Shop SpeakLoud
*The earring were posted on a plain white cardstock so that we only popped that big question once.

3. Essie Nail Polish Good As Gold, Available at Target, various Drug Stores and on Amazon

4. Personalized VISA Gift Card, Gift Card Mall
*This was included to use towards their bridesmaid dresses that they will wear on the big day.

5. DIY Gold Glitter Tray, Craft Box DIY to Go

** Carlie also included a personalized note & uniquely relevant quotation for each bridesmaid, a copy of her inspiration board for the big day, and Craft Box did the belly band popping the {second} big question!

Here is what we came up with!

In order to ship these bad boys {girls} we secured the gift card, nail polish, and earrings to the tray with glue dots. They are super tacky and we felt comfortable that they wouldn’t allow the items to budge. Getting them off? No problem! If they don’t peel right of you can use just a dab of baby oil to loosen them up and then peel.

I will post the how-to for the DIY glitter trays & DIY personalized in Projects within the next 7 days. I have a couple of  Easter ideas I have queued to post first.

BUT, if you’re liking this idea and you’re getting married and would like to collaborate on a unique maid of honor // bridesmaid box I would love to hear from you! Email me at:

Happy Tuesday!
